Went out of Charlestown and down to the mouth of the Northeast River and tried in the slough west of Carpenters Point. Caught nothing there but they were all nice size. Moved a bit west and joined a small fleet fishing off Poplar Point. Saw a few small srtipers caught on other boats but we still had none. Moved over past Stump Point until we were directly out from the VA Hospital and could see the entire length of the railroad bridge. We were in a fleet of about 2 dozen boats, most were fly fishing. Saw a few small Stripers caught the fly fishers, also caught two small stripers my ownself on a white bucktail with a chartreuse twister tail. Today is last day of Catch and Release on the Flats. Fillet and release season opens June 1.
