Fished the last two hrs. of incoming tide this afternoon in Absecon Bay. Water temp 67* at Faunce Landing dock; 63* in the bay. 10 flounder with 2 keepers to 18.5" on green spin & glow with minnow. Lots of action with blues in the middle of the water column.

Glad to hear you got out there for the flounder. Looks like we may be in for a better year than last year given the early bite. Best of luck...

Thanks for the report shadow12. I will be fishing Absecon on Sat, what depth did you do your best in for the flounder

Any reports of weakfish being caught?

We tried the shallows 6-8'thinking they may be sunning themselves, but had no luck. Moved into deeper 10-12' water and had the bite. Also seemed like they liked a little flash. Tried staight bucktail with no luck, put on the spin and got um.

fshlot, there was snotgrass in most places, but moving around looking for clean water worked. Also, as high tide approached the snot lessened.

Thanks for the report Shadow. Let's hope it only gets better from here and I dont know whats worse the snot grass or the green heads

You should try "the sticks" on Saturday. This is always a good early season flounder spot all the way to the second set of cans. We started in Broad Creek, but couldn't put up with the snot grass and were forced to move over to "the sticks" - it was a good move. Good Luck

Yeah that stuff is a pain in the butt!!!..last night we were doing pretty good with flatty's 1 for 6 (would of been 2 for ,but a blue bit the tail off one) Then the snot moved in once the tide started rolling.
