i have an electronic box i'm going to remove the thin plexi-glass and flush mount the gps and radar. what material have you found to do a good job.

1. Starboard usually used
2. Thick polycarbonate but harder to work with
3. Aluminum sheet (paint to look better)
4. Luan ply covered with glass and resin (least desired and the longest to fabricate
5. Plexiglass...but very brittle (breaks if any sharp corners, cracks while drilling, breaks if bend is overheated)

I used starboard and it's very easy to work with and looks great.:D

I love to use starboard!!

what other kind of plastic like resin material or whatever it is can you cut, sand, bend, and even plastic weld!?!?

some tough stuff yet great to work with!!

Use it and caulk it in with 5200 compound! it goes nowhere then!! lol hahaha

Yes...starboard indeed...just ensure you use the heavy board...not the light, airy stuff...the heavy stuff will sand and polish quite nicely...

also for trim work, etc, use acrylic...it also sands and polishes nicley...

i just found it on a web site but can i buy in a marine supply so i know i'm getting the right stuff
