If you head down under the 17th ST causeway (last one down A1A) there is a nice spot to drift bait underneath the east side(pay parking) nice spot. I see a lot of locals come there at dusk and catch some nice tarpon. Although they are really not hitting like Port charlotte right now for sure there are some residents there. Take a hike to the other side to the 15th st fishery (resteraunt) and you will see plenty by the fuel dock. some guys take there date there and buy frozen shrimp to hand feed them. I've seen guys in 14' aluminum boats drift just off the gas dock and get dragged around the harbor.
I came up from Islamorada last week, really unseasonable cold & the cold has been there for a long time. Not unless anyone is looking to spend $$$ for a day on the water, I would reschedule the booking. The cold winter has driven most species off the coast of Florida.
