So my son was throwing plugs in a south jersey inlet last night when a large pod of dolphin came in tearing up peanut bunker about 10' off the beach. My son called me all excited, while he's talking to me he yells holy shi* a giant fish just swam thru the bunker and dolphin. Then he starts yelling that a giant tuna about 300#s just came out of the water in front of him. He knows what tuna look like ,we catch alot of them. He said it crashed thru the bunker a few times then everything went quiet and it never showed up again. One of those ghost tuna.
I wanted to give it a shot this morning but the wind scared me off. I was gonna go north to the rocks and/or ambrose channel. I put fresh top shots on all my tuna gear and sea witch's,islanders, ahi heads rigged up w/ fresh leaders. Sounds like quite a few guys striper trollin are getting spooled on spoons. Some guys catching on wtfb hoo's and mad macs. I haven't heard of many under 73" but at least a few keepers around.
