A fine day on the reef. 75 degree water, moderate clarity. We started by trolling, (my favorite--NOT) from 150 - 350 for 2 hours with not a knockdown. I finally convinced the other 2 that we should go to the reef. What a fun few hours. Anchered in 45 ft & caught yellowtails, porgies(different from N.J. porgies) cero mackeral, nice grouper & about an 8ft shark, oh joy. I managed 3 ceros on the fly. They hit, fight & run about the same as an albie. All caught on clousers. I'm starting to enjoy this gorilla fishing. :D

Water temp's up here are approaching 40 in the ocean, and ice is forming in the back. I miss the Keys already. We had a few of those Cero's (small ones) near a bridge in Islamorada. They were loads of fun. Jill and I picked a few bass in the rips on Saturday, on bucktails. I had the fly rod along, but I'm not sure I could get deep enough with a 350 grain line. May have been our last attempt til spring. Gorilla fishing is better than no fishing at all
