I found some spots on kent island to fish from the beach is it even worth my time at this point in this year or would it be pissing into the wind at this point?

Be gentle I am new to the area!

probably not the best board to ask this question. There is another great forum that caters more to that area. Try Tidalfish.com and post this in their chesapeake forum. Lots of kent island guys on that board. (this one caters to NJ guys who fish the atlantic from the beach).

I always kick off my year right in your area.

Late March on the Metapeake Pier or more likely just across the Bridge at Sandy Point has been my first pullage for many years. My son and I go down with a flat of worms and stay for a three day weekend and have put as many as 50 fish up to 40 inches on the sand. Most are 28" to 34" and a blast.

It is all catch and release then but Chesapeake fish are beautiful silver and white fish, the brightest I have seen anywhere and as much a pleasure to watch swim away as they are to catch. . .
