I have a Quantum Cabo PTS50 and was thinking about packing it with grease because I hear it makes reels, in general, perform better and deter debris from fishing rough surf or jetties. My questions are; 1) Should I be packing this type of reel, 2) If so, should I, or do I have to, use the Quantum "Hot Sauce", and 3) exactly what parts of the reel would I be packing with grease?. Any videos that might show this process would be helpful.

I have a Cabo esp50 that's a few years old. Take it apart and clean it every winter (just did it last Sunday). I use Penn reel grease sparingly-I apply it with a toothpick. Smooth and quiet like the day I bought it.

Packing grease

I always stay away from packing grease. too much grease catches & holds the salt, sand & grit and will grind your gears down. Try a small amount of grease and then oil. Clean every 2-3 years.
