There were lots of Happy Bunker off the beach in AC yesterday... happy 'cause nobody was chomping on them. The bait was in really tiny schools and very spread out and were tough to spot... but perfect size... about 9" mostly.

Then they hit the Absecon inlet at the turn of the tide and it looked like they all decided to get together with the herring and the birds for a midday throwdown... surface bustin everywhere you looked for about 30 minutes.

Snagged a bunch of them and dropped them below the school...nada. Fired up the livewell and took a few home for bait....

Flipper paid a visit with a big family reunion just off Bally's around noon.. must have been fifty of them breaching and swimmin around the boat.... cute little black tip on the notch of all their dorsals.. water temp was 51 off the beach....70's in the backbay later in the day.

Classic Jersey morning fog yesterday too... inlet got real hazy when the sun came up but visibility was 3-4 miles once you got out in the ocean... lots of guys stayed inside cause they thought it was dense outside... literally didn't see a boat from the time I broke the inlet at 5:30 am until 10ish... it was clear when I left.

All in all... lots of Taylor blues from around the Absecon inlet and off Longport. Big flyrod fun on as many herring as you wanted to bail (as long as you use a pink clouser) and one of the prettiest days of the year off the beach. But I am gonna get that big cow on a snagged bunker this spring..I can just feel it!
