I have a trip planned for the first week of June to Hatteras with a couple of buddies we will have a 40 foot topaz at are disposal what and where should we plan on fishing for peligic's if anyone would kindly respond. Thanks in advance.
big rock is second week of june each year. Plan on being able to target any kind of fish in june, great time to be there, though if water warms up fast the tuna may be north of OI at that time, but there are fish always movin past the "toll bridge" known as the point. good luck and good for me there at that time this year as well "options express".
I'm hoping the YFT's will stick around this year till the end of May. I'll be down the 15th to the 22nd running out of Hatteras. I'm hoping the rockpile and 280 rocks will be holding fish. Any other Yankees who want to buddy up let me know, that inlet is fierce and it's nice to have some company when off your home turf!
I've fished in hatteras for over 20 years around that time. Definately a predominant mahi bite and a great time for Blue Marlin. There are always some whites and wahoo around. There are some hold over YFT, always found some around the wrecks at this time but they are definately boat shy - the yft we have hooked up with have always been on the wwwwwwwwwway back hoo.
Inshore cobia can be be fun, mainly tide fishing for them. Unless you find a nice color break off the beach.
