I some times read about using clams for bait and at time the word used is bellies. What is the difference. Thanks in advance

luke11.9, Bellies are what's left once the edible part is removed.Chowders clams in particular.Bellies make great chum as well as bait.You can get them at NO BONES in Wildwood.That's where you'll find Fred.Now when they talk about using clams for bait or clam chunkin,mostly refers to using Surf Clams fresh out of the shell.Surf clams are used for to catch Black Drum,Stripers,Croakers,Sea Bass and other bottom dwellers including skates,and sand sharks,oyster crackers,and sea robins.
