If I'm in the Charter/Headboat category for HMS is there a separate "For Hire" permit and do I also have to sign onto the Saltwater Registry?
It is getting beyond ridiculous. Thanks in advance for any help.

Questions

As I understand, if you have the charter/headboat, you do not need to sign on the fed regis., just like if you have a del salt lic., which meets the fed format and standard, you do not need to sign on the fed regis.
I am not sure what you mean by for hire permit, state/local/federal ?

Thanks Blackfinjerry. I just went back to the online registry FAQ and it directed me that I do need to register IF I don't have a "For Hire" permit which I didn't even know that I needed. Not that I take many charters on my boat but I fish the Charter/Headboat category with my HMS Permit. Wonder how much the "For Hire" permit costs.
