Backbay in the Cape May area has been slower than it should be. Water has been way too warm for good bass activity. Temps have been in the upper 70's. There has been all the little blues you want and there is alot of baitfish around. With this cool weather this weekend it should action should start to pick up. Water quaility has not been that good either with the warm water.

I went out behind Brigantine early this morning, it was blowing 30 to 40 and 3 ft chop on the back bays. the water temp droped up behond AC . down to 67 in the Back 69 in the inlet and 70 at the protected slip at Trump marina . I t looks like the wind droped out a bit now But thats looking out my window at work sun. 3:40 pm. as soon as the water clears I think the bite will kick in. Joe R Susie II

Fished CI and wind droped as the day went on. Back was full of bait when we were leaving. Some fish breaking on them but couldn't do much because I had to go. Lots of small blues around and bass scatered ( I hope) Fishing will hit the roof in a couple days or weeks. I will be there when it happens. Let you know when I get into them....
