I've found some free spots to launch the yak, but am curious about the ramps. Do the ramps charge the normal launch fee to launch a yak?

thanks,

If you are taking up a parking spot, I'd guarantee they'd charge you full price to launch. Just go after hours and no one will be there to hassle you.

Also, if there is a little room on the side of the ramp, like a sand or gravel edge, they might let you launch there for free. But it all depends on who is running the ramp when you are there.

The Absecon, NJ public ramp is free for all boaters. Next to the ramp is a hard sand area that is perfect for launching kayaks to avoid waiting on the larger boats using the ramp.

I'm glad to see the forum back, I missed it alot.

I'm vacationing in OC in a few weeks and since I'm down with the family, will be limited to mini-trips. Don't want to pay to launch for just a few hours.
