I went down to the river bank of the Maurice on Friday and while there I came across a dead Perch that was massive. It was 18 inches long and 6.5 inches from top to bottom. I have never seen such a huge perch slab in my life! I almost ran out to the bait store to get some blood worms and try to catch his kin. The fish was found up Maurice river around the Menantico entrance.

I have caught perch all my life....it was definetly a perch.

We haul seine the river during the winter months and have caught plenty of 2lb perch. The single largest was 2lb 14ounces in January.

The perch are always there, but are hard to get them to bite.

Mud shad spawn and are not normally here in January.
