Out last night in NSB with my buddy Kenny

ICW was just filled with bait. Caught the outgoing tide , set up shop in rolling Tarpon

Might of let another state record Red go, did not have a scale, but this one was at least 45-50 pounds. Here's Kenny with a big Mama

Release

And then........... Tarpon time. These photos do no justice to the whole ordeal. This was just an awesome display. About a 60 pound fish

Definetly a memorable night

Ron

Ron when you get a chance e-mail me your address.
I was talking to Sudsrat (AOK Tackle)
He tells me he has good results with the T-Hex on specs and reds.
I think the big ones will work good offshore.
I send you some different sizes.

Very nice reds - Ron. I was down in your area two weeks ago for my uncles funneral. I didn't do much fishing, but on the last day on my last cast off his dock, I got my first Red. It was only about 20" but it brought a much needed smile to my face. Keep posting the great pics from Florida (Maybe one day I move into my uncles house on Sykes Creek).

Nice fish, no doubt about it, but do you think the state record for FL is only in the 50's? I thought they caught bull reds up to 70lbs down there. Could be mistaken. The world record is 94lbs or something from NC, but I would think they'd get some brutes down in FL too..

Either way, nice fish on both counts!

Whoops, ok, just checked. FL record red is only 51lbs. That's surprising to me.

So yep, you might have had a record fish there, bud. D'oh!

You'll be chanting "Redrum, Redrum" from now on....
