I remember back in the day,, keep reading, when you could drift off the beach and catch flounder and other line tuggers. Not anymore!
I remeber when I could leave the dock with the hope of catching yellowfin tuna. That was some time back.
We have been blessed with an annual, repeating blue fin bite each summer. I guess fishing must be good and this must be the blue fin part of the cycle and the yellow fin bite will come back, right???
Just a thought from me but the ONLY reason we have a blue fin bite left is because those fish are here to filli up on the sand eels. These sand eels are on the short list not being wiped out by the commercial fishery!
Does anyone have any idea of the number of Tractor Trailers filled with fish that get caught, unloaded and shipped out of Cape May? Do we know how many of the bait fish off our coast are being swiped up out of our oceans?

Literally *THOUSANDS of tractor trailers are filling up and taking our fish up the parkway!!**
Commercial fisherman will catch what is closest to the coast and work their way out! What are the predators going to eat when the commercial guys clear out? They will keep moving out further until we cant reach their food source. I guess I am being selffish to think that my kids wont ever ask their buddies to go yellow fin tuna fishing..... I hope I am wrong!!
