Was just on Garmins site, and saw the 720/740 series chartplotter. Was looking to pick up the 546 plotter at the AC boatshow, but now i'm thinking i might hold off. Has anyone heard pros/cons yet on these?

I think EMC (sawed) said they havent been released yet, but will be at the AC boat show.

It would be nice for them to have a larger series than the 5xx's the screens are just a tad to small for my taste.

I will let you know after seeing it at the show. It looks really nice and the size is better than a 5".You can add some nice options like preloaded charts, a built in sounder and radar.The price for the unit is not that bad either.Once we install a couple we should really have a better idea.Garmin does alot of testing before relasing a product so I am sure it should be good.

They look real nice on the website. Touch screen too! Bet they sell for around $1200.
