i was gonna post this same question. i was thinking the aerosol foam ya spray in around the window gaps at home. i guess the r-value would be on the can. this idea just popped into my head, as i was shoveling snow, go figure
I have tried the cans of foam that you get from Home Depot on the boat before, and it just doesn't hold up very well. I think it is like Get Some said, it absorbs water and then starts to disintegrate. Also the spray foam is not UV stable so it breaks down in sun light. Good suggestion though.i was gonna post this same question. i was thinking the aerosol foam ya spray in around the window gaps at home. i guess the r-value would be on the can. this idea just popped into my head, as i was shoveling snow, go figure
that is kinda what I do now, I put one of those cooler bags in it with 8# of ice for the big boy soda, only the ice only last 4-5 hours. I would like to use it inplace of my 120 cooler, so I want to keep as much room as possable.couldnt you just place a cooler inside the box you have.or build a box within the box with insulation inbetween?
Do you know where I could buy some from?? I think that is what is on my chillers and chilled water piping.Armacell. I use it glycol and chilled water systems. We wrapped 55gallon drum with it for a party. Ice kept for over a week easy in 90 +100 degree days.
LU# 14 Heat and frost insulators.
One of the guys from Goldner Co. just hooked me up with a 1" thick pc. of Armacell. I'm going to give it a try. Looks like it will work great. Thanks for the info!Sorry been away, most likely thats what is in your chillers.
It is expensive,but it works.
You have All state insulation
IMC insulation
KNAUF.
I`ll get you some #s tomorrow.
How thick are you talking and how much material sq ft.?
