I hope to see a bunch of my family of barners at Striper night this Wednesday.

"Striper Night" will be held at the Mount Laurel Marriott (Route 73 near I-295) on Wednesday night, April 9th. Doors open at 6pm. Seminars start at 7pm.

I plan on presenting some of the science behind spring clam fishing for stripers and drum. I have a power point presentation with over 50 slides of interesting facts about these two fish. I have always been fascinated with the biology of fishing and plan on sharing some of the things I have learned over the years which have helped my fishing.

Included in the discussion will be:

How does spring and fall striper fishing differ in the Delaware Bay
Why do clams work as bait?
How do stripers feed differently pre and post spawn
What is the striper migratory route and how to find the fish.
What level of the water column should you target for stripers.

How does the spawning of drum affect their feeding
Do drum bite better at night or during the day
Where can you find drum away from the fleet
The unique feeding mechanism of drum
How can drum taste their food without even putting it in their mouth

And, many more facts.

Please stop and introduce yourself. Always glad to meet fellow barners. :)

Exit 4 NJ turnpike. Stay to the right after the toll (toward Philly) and its just past the first light you come to. In a couple years that toll will be about $50 if Corzine is still in office...Had to say that!

Sounds real interesting Capt. Harv. I wish they would have these things on the weekends, with a 6 AM start on week days its impossible for me to attend.
