its probably been asked before but i couldnt find any threads on the subject. i am looking for a light weight deep cycle just to power my fishfinder and maybe my anchor lights if i cant find portable battery operated ones. have any of you guys or gals ever used any lighter weight 12v deep cycle batteries. i was thinking about just linking two 6 volt ones together but it still came up to about the same weight.

Ask or search in the kayak forum. Many just use an eight pack of AA rechargeables for the FF. You can find them ready to go at hobby shops. If you need more runtime for lights a small gel cell would be nice but $$, or a small cabela's MAT battery would be cheaper.
