Would like to get some opinions on how you guys attach your jigs to your top shot. Tie direct, some type of terminal clip? Let me know. Thanks TJ

Most of the time with a break away clip or snap swivel.

I use either a San Diego jam knot or Imporoved Clinch to attach the swivel to the leader.

Depends on what im fishing for.

Bass and blues I just tie direct

For tuna I tie to a solid ring or a 400lb sampo swivel and attach my jigs with split rings

Different strokes for different folks, but here is my deal:

If you are going to use an assist hook....Crimp on a solid ring to the end of the topshot.. #10 split ring on the jig to attach to the solid ring. Assist hook tied off on the solid ring.

For a hammered jig with a hook at the bottom... Crimp a high quality barrel swivel to the topshot. #10 split ring to the bottom ring on the swivel to attach the jig.

If you are going for tuna I rig using a sampo swivel tied with a palomar knot. I then put a split ring and put the assist hook on the swivel. Now I can switch out jigs without having to have each jig rigged with a hook.Plus it makes things easier for jig storage.
I haven't had a failure yet, and I've landed some pretty big tuna this way.
