Clammed for about 2 hours today and limited out.
3 of us brought home 450 clams, Not a single chowder most where top necks and little necks.

It only gets better from here.

I am having them tomorrow.

The clams were very deep today. The bar seemed to be much higher than what it was last year. I think the winter storms drove some extra sand up on the bar.

Had a few friends over for the race.
I am Forrest Gump of clams!
I made steamed Clams, Clams Casino, Raw Clams and shrimp.

Out of 450, we destroyed 200 of them. The place taht we clammed at was nice, but we got no chowder clams and only a handful of cherry clams.
I prefer the cherry's for steaming and pickling.

pickled CLAMS?

hey Jason, while you guys are raking around in the muck, do you have a fishing rod set up just in case something comes up your chumline (old flounder fishin trick is a plunger on a long pole and churn up the bottom ...

what do you do, get the grundens on and wade around or do you rake from the boat?

<--always curious

We will tread in the summer when the water is warm enough to swim in.
I have never thrown a rod in the water, but I might try it soon.

I plan on bring my boat out of hibernation for a few back bay trips for flounder and double for clams at low tide.
