Arrived at marina yesterday and the boat was painted and sitting in the slings, put the plug in and attached some new zincs and in she went. Short ride at WOT and all is well. If it is nice I'll probably go fill up with fuel and take a ride to the inlet. I will bring a pole in case I see anything worth casting to.

Didn't make it out today, just installed a new "anchor" light and cleaned up the battery terminals. Wind was supposed to be less and it was not, felt like more! Removed the spreader lights and would have had new ones installed if I wasn't on call.

Forecast had me in a tough position on Sunday, could've decide what to do. I ended up launching at SRI at 845 with striper and tog gear ready to go. Inlet wasn't bad but ocean had some good size ESE swells with a stiff west wind. I decided to go for it and ran up to the raritan. By the time I found some fish(with help from a Friend) the insane surface action only lasted 10 minutes. I got one real quick and then 2 more the next hour or 2. At 3.15 I called it expecting a 10mph ride back, but managed 23mph with quartering sea. Long ride but I had 2 skunks so far this season and needed to lose that skunk. Burned 19 gallons and went 64 miles.
Nice report! I'm hearing of stripers caught all over the place.
With tog ending this weekend I think I'm gonna try for them. Not sure where out of but somewhere LEI or north and where crabs are sold nearby.
New shop in Tuckerton has a sign out front for greenies, I wouln't want to try and go north out of his parking lot though,

Skinner's Marina had greenies and blood worms last sunday. Call first to make sure.
Good to know, hopefully the weather lets us out this weekend.

rain with wind friday, wind with rain on Saturday, rain and wind on sunday. when do you start pools?
Pools started 1st week of april, today sucks. Thank god for grundens on a day like this. Looks like a reel maintenanace/tackle organization weekend and a trip to somewhere who has a gossa 5k in stock. I can live with the rain just not the wind that's forecasted.
I picked one up at Bass Pro AC, pick up some picaridin while your there, it works for gnats, green heads and black flies.

Gonna be nat season real soon if not already. Opening weekend for flounder 2 years ago nats were insane
Way too windy for gnats today, installed some new spreader lights today and polished up all of the metal.
Nice fish Wired
I ended up getting the day off so I left for Capt. mikes around 10. Launched around 11:30 to decent conditions in the heart of the outgoing. Tide was rippin and couldn't find a area that produced more than 1 bite. Wind was honkin by 1 out of SSEish. Tide slacked and fished the same area we tried a few times earlier. Fish really turned on coming up w/ full bellys for around a hour. We got 2 slots and one 19", dropped a stud and missed a few really solid thuds. All fish were on brown shrimp, I used fish bites shrimp and dad used 3" new penny gulp shrimp. I did have a nice bite on a white bucktail/white gulp shrimp but as usual everything was caught on teaser. Maybe 5 shorts total, obviously no bugs today water never got over 60.1 according to my machine 59 most of day.
Fish were caught near main channel that isn't marked yet, few boats on sandbar and one was really on sand bar and was gonna be there for hours. Pretty damn low tide, just barely got back into Tim's ramp. I dredged about 75 yards of his channel in my little 14' skiff.

FYI not my fish but i wish it was (y)
My days off work are not being kind to me, rain today and on call tomorrow, just bought a house that will require a bunch of my time so I won't be having a banner fishing year. I will be happy to get out of a condo though and will be able to bring my boat home for storage and have a shop. I would love to have a big barn to park her in but that isn't going to happen, I'll be happy to have her home. Good luck to all.
