I don't have a built in live well, But I have a portable live well rigged up to attach my wash down hose to it.

I don't like doing it that way cause of leaving the wash down pump running and what ever amps it draws must not be good.

Has anyone ever put a tee in the wash down hose and run a bait well pump to a external bait well pulling water right from the threw hall pickup ?

The bait well pumps are made to keep running right ?

Did I explain that good enough ?

Thanks, Paul

Sounds like you need a dual port livewell pump. Rule and pirhanna make them. I just installed a new one on my boat. From the thru hull to the dual port pump. Two discharges on the pump. One goes to your washdown pum and the other discharge to your livewell tank. The pump free flows allowing the washdown to work flawlessly. Factory installed from edgewater boats this way.
Hope this helped.
Good luck
