planning on heading out saturday morning on party boat and was wondering if anyone knows of anyone selling fresh clams in Belmawr-LBI area?

I know that FishHeads on LBI only has Frozen Clams this week,they open up a 8AM but you might want to check in with them before that to see if any boats got out during the week and delivered some freash.Here is their 3 609-494-5739.

I'd check a couple supermarkets for chowders.. or maybe a fresh fish store.... have done that a few times off season before and not paid too much more than a bait shop...

Also, try calling Betty & Nicks if you are willing to take the drive... I think he had fresh last weekend....

I really prefer fresh over frozen or salted given the choice....

If you cant find anything w/ the sponsors Charlies Clam Bar in Berlin has good prices on chowders there almost as big as surf turkeys...856-767-0401

The clam dealer at the back end of Berlin Farmer's Market sells bags of large (3") clams just as cheap as bait shops or cheaper.
I think they are open 7-days a week but I don't know the hours. I buy bags for chum and bait out on the wrecks and they work just fine. Tougher to open than surf clams tho.
