Took a Mom, her husband and young son out this morning. That's what this mom wanted to do on Mothers day. Very little wind when we left the dock. About 5 minutes from the dock it came on strong. Tried working the beach front and jetty area. Water was very dirty for high tide. A few herring were hitting and not much else. Did see an Osprey get one and carry it off. First time I ever saw one working the ocean.

With the wind blasting we decided to head to the back bay and find a lee shore, somewhere were we could fish without getting blasted. Tried a shallow creek mouth, but with the daylight and wind it was too much trouble. Ended up finding a spot behind Wildwood Crest and anchored up and went with clam and bucktails with squid. Got a mess of nice blues, had quite a few bite offs and not a single bass. Young fellow caught his first bluefish and they all enjoyed action of getting blues on light tackle. We made the best of a windy day and everyone had a good time.
Did see a couple of fluke caught, but the drift was super fast with the wind and tide going the same direction.

Was down Sunday and I saw several boats stop dealing with the wind and anchor up and at least catch some blues. A friend had is new Hydra 23' CC down and just made a run anchored over a hole and had 5 blues in the first hour while playing with with his new toy. They were having fun and that's what it is all about.
