We fished for mackerel on 1/2/06 for our first trip of the year, on the Belmar Princess.We caught all the mackerel we needed ,the Capt kept us on the fish all day,the weather was great ,seas were calm ,no wind and the rain didn,t start until the end of the day .Great boat and great crew!300+ in the box!go get them.

How long or far, ( approx., I am not after a specific SPOT ) did you run to get them from Belmar ??

Blackfinjerry, we ran about 10 miles northeast out of the Shark River Inlet,but did not find large schools so then the Capt ran up to the ambrose light tower and we did real well there,then it slowed so he ran just south of the highlands 10 miles off and we finish out the day.Most of the fish were in est.120 ft. of water.hope this helps.

Steven, how many people were on the boat and what was the bait/lure of choice?

Sanibelfisher,there were about 30 people on the boat and red tubes worked well with 8 oz of weight
