Had to go to S. Del. to winterize and close up my trailer this weekend and from the marine forecast I thought it would be strictly a work weekend. Woke up Sat morn and Rehobeth Bay looked pretty nice so a friend and I grabbed rods, got spot from the bait pen , launched the boat and headed for the inlet to catch the outgoing tide. After 2 drifts in what seemed to be wall to wall boat traffic we headed to a spot farther back in the bay. We were the only boat there and between 9 a.m. - 12a.m. we managed to boat 18 stripers. Only had 1 29" keeper but the other fish all ran from 22-27" and they were all nice healthy looking fish, no sores or lesions. Tried again Sunday morn but only managed 1- 27 1/2" tagged fish. All were caught on live spot. Wasn't a bad way to close up in slower lower Delaware. Now I'll finish up my striper season with you guys in Cape May.---Barry K.
