I fish the Great Bay area from Capt. Mikes Marina but I?d like to try the ?Grassy Channel?. Could someone tell me of a marina that is near there that has bait and a boat ramp? Thanks for your help.

BB, this will sound like a total rookie (which I am) but I usually come out of Capt. Mikes and just fish around the stink house and the ICW. Last year I did venture out front a couple miles on a 90 degree setting where we had a great day. By asking if I?ve fished around 134 if I did I didn?t know it, but should I be fishing there???

A Frayed Knot, thanks for the info about Scott?s being a Barn Sponsor, I?ll definitely stop in. I think I saw your boat at Capt. Mikes.

Is there any where to fish for stripers in this area? I always fish for flounder but would rather go after stripers.

I would suggest buying a chart of the bay if you do not already have one. I have a lot of areas that I fish but do not know the names of the area. I think grassy chanel starts at little beach up by the inlet and runs all the to 139. It can be a little tricky because most of it is not marked by bouys. You kind of have to poke your way around and figure it out for yourself.

A FRAYED KNOT has given you some great advice. I would advise that you buy the Charts from Scotts then ask him to point out all the local spots and their names. This will help you out greatly when reading the reports on the barn you will know where that area is.

Grassy Channel is in the back not out front. you say you fish by the stink house well if you head out by the old CG station get in the ICW going towards Brig. There is a trough east of the ICW from like bouy 131 thru 139. This is considered Grassy Channel. Like A Frayed Knot said you need to putt around out there watching you depth finder. There are a lot of shallows but you should be able ot easily mark the deeper water where they fish are lying in wait during the early spring and summer.

I will be fishing out there tomorrow! Good luck! I usually target the striped ones out front.

Anytime Bar Hopper!!! I hope you get on em Thursday. If you fish down there on the weekends and want a tour just let me know. I got rid of my boat last year to upgrade only to learn that I will need to wait a year to get what I want. So I am doing the surf thing and fishing with friends this year. Which really isn't too bad because I am fishing many more area's then ever before. Wed I will be out in Great Bay my #1 stomping grounds on a buds boat (I also have use of a cousins boat docked at Cape Horn) , Sat the wife and I will spend the day at IBSP, then Sun I will be fishing the Delaware Bay with one of my cousins. It's good to have so many family members and friends with boats.

BB, as I?ve learned the best boat is a friend?s boat! About that tour, my buddy that was going with me this Thursday had to back out, I?m still going, I?d be happy to extend the day to you if your schedule permits.

Thanks for the invites guys Unfortunately I will need to be a weekend warrior for a while as I am running out of vacation days :D ! But Please Keep me in mind as I am always willing to help at the pump!. BH I wish you luck out there today. Vital is right it is Radio Road! "Brain Fart!" I was out yesterday with a buddy nothing but shorts. Although it does appear to be less skates as we only caught one yesterday.

HookinUp that chart is great! Thanks! I never maid it out last Thursday, but I hope to go tomorrow June 6. I don't know fishing on 6-6-06 could be interesting. I did a lot of chart looking the other day and it looks real "fishy" around Absecon bay. Is there any day time striper fishing in these areas?
