Left the "Dan"Forth in port today and fished with The Stalker today. We decided that the striper and drum bite was too slow to bank a trip on and decided to drift for flounder in the back. Captain NOAA was wrong about the wind and drifting was a challenge but we put quite a few flatties in the boat. A lot of shorts that were close enough to measure and two real nice ones. Alot of blues in the 1-3 pound range kept things interesting as well. I caught the only skate, horseshoe crab and spider crab of the trip. We also caught a few plaice (I think - locals call them sundials). We had a lot of fun and had plenty of fish to filet at the end of the day (my house will smell like apple wood smoke in a couple of days). Thanks Skip and I like the wide beam on that boat. We'll see eachother on the 5 Fathom Bank some time this summer!!
