Spent a good part of the day in places other than the river until about noon. Tide was going slack and the spawners were going crazy, but not everybody was spawning today! Banged a couple nice ones with the big fish of the day coming on a popper again 28lbs. Smallest fish was 17lbs, had a lot of misses today especially on the live Herring they seemed quick to drop them. Water was a balmy 67 degrees when I left around 3:15. Trolled on my way out, nada.

I tried GP for my final time this year on Thursday. Used herring chunks and clams. Was ready to pack it in and caught the tiniest striper. I stayed a little while longer but the crabs are intolerable there. I need to stay in the ocean, I do much better there. Nice report Bob. What channel do you monitor?

Action still up river? I have been playing around between Swan Bay and deep point with jigs/plugs with no action. Some marks, but no bite. I have picked a few in the inlet, and picked up another 20 lb Drum, this time in Grassy. So I will be giving the inlet and Grassy a workout tommorrow afternoon/evening.

Grassy was a parking lot before I came back up river so something was going down. The action is not as far up as it was but it is still up river, from Lower Bank up. I think that the fish are going to start to drop back, with that water temp pushing 70 degrees they are not going to hang out long. With that said there are some monsters still up in the river so get ready to catch them on the way out.
