I caught some really nice Walleye in the Trenton area of the Big D wading at night while fishing for Stripers. I was using black Bombers, also caught some monster Smallmouth. This was several years ago but I would bet they are still there in the spring.

I could be wrong, but I don't think you are going to find them too much south of Trenton, in the river.

In the late 1970's the PA Fish Commission released walleye fry into the lower river. The man from the PFC told me they released about 7 million fry.

I was hoping but they never seemed to take hold.

Around the same time there was a population of walleye in the river near Trenton. One winter day my sons and I caught hundreds in the creek that drains Van Sciver Lake into Tulleytown Cove and the river. They were all about the same size, 10 inches. I never caught another walleye there.

Not much "sweetwater" in S Jersey. Not "allowed" to divulge SPOTS here. 28" + is good whatever the drive :D
Good Luck
