Hey guys. It's Saturday morning and I have a little time. I figured I'd just post a little info for those interested.
In a nut shell, my life has merely taken a radical shift. Because of the current economy, I've taken a full time job. My wifes buisness has decreased quite a bit and we still have our daughter at Penn State. So our expenses remain high.
This job gives me very little free time. I think it's just getting used to the new schedule. It's difficult for me to divide the free time I do have between tying, fishing, house maintenence duties and my wifes incesent sexual needs. :D Most don't know, I'm an avid amatuer student of paleontology. Fossil collecting. Although I'm not out cracking rock, I'm still doing alot of research on places to go when I can get out, and identifying previously collected specimens. I attack my other interests with the intensity that I fly fish and tie. Leaves little time.
I'll continue to check in whenever I can.
On a very positive note, my son graduated from Penn State in December and has landed a great job. He's been offered a position with a company called "Intuitive". They manufacture the Da Vinci machine. A robotic surgical device, state of the art. He's being trained as an instructor. He'll be in the surgical arena teaching and assisting surgeons on the use of the Da Vinci. One down, one to go.

It takes some thought & a bit of scheduling but sometimes the busier you are the more you can do. Prioritize & you can learn to spend your "free time" on what is important. Good luck with the change.

Congratulations to your son!! The medical field is one of the fields where there are job openings, and expect to be.

So what are you doing? Not a tin cup in front of the Iron Hill Restaurant I hope?:D

A lot of us are reaching the point where finding a fossil is as simple as looking in the mirror each morning:eek::D. Might even find a new line running through it.

I do appreciate the help Pete, small as it is.

I'm working for a company that builds industrial vacuum and blower machinery. They sell, as well as rent them. Primarily used in pollution remediation. They suck the crap out of polluted underground sites. We don't deal with the pollution stuff, just build the machines. Some are standard units and some are custom designs for specific clients needs. So it kind of incorporates all of my experiance and aquired skills. Millwright, electrician, plumbing, rigging and machine design. We're building a machine now that's running a 300 hp motor, all stainless steel, for a distillary, I think in Caracau. This thing is huge. It's nice to be back in the mechancal world again, I do enjoy climbing all over steel structures. I'm not sure I'll stay there, I'm keeping my options open. The money isn't that good, I've been told I'll be reviewed in three months and see where it'll go. I have no doubt as to my value but don't know if they have the margin to pay me what I should make. The way things are out there now, I'm glad to even have a job.
