Fished the big J yesterday for Cod, Pollock, and porgys.

Big Pollock took a 8 oz hammered diamond jig 25' off the bottom.

Hog on the hammered. My personal best.

I did catch one on the teaser 3' above the jig (red scampy I use bottom fishing in California).
I jigged 3 beautiful Pollock and lost 2- one hog broke me off and one came unbuttoned.

The boat had a light load of hardcore wreckers.
It was a great trip with a variety of fish.

Thanks guys-

how about cod any caught?
There were. Biggest went around 25lb. Local fish.

How big was it?
27 lbs. I know it looks bigger.

Nice job on those slob pollock bro! See you got that one in the dark too. They always seem to bite real well before the sun comes up. What were the totals for the boat?
If everybody was jigging at the first stop there would have been more caught. A lot caught on bait. Not sure of the totals but about 15-20 pollock, 15-20 cod, porgys, ling, and the elusive sea bass.
The sea bass were vented and released by the mates.

Any "by-catch?"
yes

nice pollock.. how deep?
180'+
