I have a mercruiser outdrive. Right now when I try to raise or lower it, the hydraulic pump works but the outdrive dont move up or down. I checked the fluid and the fluid in the resovoir was thick and milky. I added some new fluid but nothing helped. I can move the outdrive down if I push on it while someone pushes th down button.
Should I bleed the system? If so, how?

Any other suggestions at all?

Is there any place I should check for leaks?

Other helpful hints?

You must flush all of the old contaminated fluid out before installing new cylinders. Your old cylinders can be rebuilt or replaced but you must get all of the water out of the pump and hydraulic lines.
