I, for the most part am unfamiliar with the Waretown/Oyster Creek area. Are there any boat ramps nearby that put you pretty close to the creek? Are you allowed to go up the creek in a boat (at least to where Route 9 is)?

You are allowed up the creek just east of the bridge, as far as boat ramps, there's one right on the creek, but you can't use it unless your a township resident & have a permit. There are ramps (fee per launch) at Macs dock & waretown fishing center, both just south of the creek, also a bunch of marinas with ramps on the Forked river just north of Oyster creek.

Townsends and Southwinds are great ramps to launch from in Forked River. About a three minute ride to the outflow once you hit the open bay.

I use the Southwinds Marina ramp at the extreme easterly end of Lacey Road, the closet ramp to the mouth of Forked River
