Took one of my chef's out today and we decided to get away from the croud early.

Passed the fleet at Prissy and set up on a quite ripline where there was very little drift. Hard to get where I wanted to on the ripline.

As the current picked up- so did the fishing....and so did the croud. It amazes me how no matter how big or small the fleet- there is always some guy who wants to run parallel to the rip and destroy the fishing.

Moved to an even more secret spot- but there was 6 boats there and even a head boat. Fish were caught, but the traffic shut it right down. Manafed 6 fish up to 32 inches on both eels and bucktails.

Finished the day at Prissy in a big fleet where the fish wanted to bite, but the boat traffic wouldn't let them.

Talked to Bayview Bob, Rageboat, Spooled, Afishanado, Bullfloat and others on the radio. Kept in touch with Mikey, Rodfater, Capt Lew, and others on the cell.

Not a bad bonus day out there. Water was 51-52 and flat. Pretty clean too.

Tommy I'm not sure what to say other than it's good to be you cause you were out there. Seems like clammin off teh beach might be slower but a better bet for some solitude and a decent bite. I got the same report by phone a couple of times today. One guy was just taking his boat up to Greenwich and commented on how many boats were out, both chunkin and rippin.


I think I'll go duckin on Saturday!

David- that's an excellent idea and I should have thought about it on the water sooner.

I don't spend a whole bunch of time in the rips so I don't have the amount of tricks up my sleeve that I should.

Hey Tom,

It never ceases to amaze me (and really p*ss me off) how many guys run their boats up on plane, through the rips, and within 10-15 yards from other boats. Good thing I'm not king because there would be a reef out there made entirely of those boats which have NO FISHING MANNERS!!!!

Hey Tom, nice job putting you folks on the fish. Sorry to hear of the a..h..es out there shuting down the bite. We had that spot all to ourself on Wed. I'll be giving it a shot tomorrow.

OPH YEAH dont forget the ones riding along the rip right on the edge too all the way up the rip

i have watched the bite go from unreal to zero in a few mins from the a holes
