I am not asking anyone to "burn a spot"...just a general question about about perch fishing from shore (boat isn't in yet) in the Waretown area...are there perch in the Waretown canals?
Heard about some success in the Tom's River, but was wondering about shore access...

There are perch in every body of water in south jersey. If there is alot I can not tell you but there is definatley some in there.

The Toms River is going to be your best bet, though I have heard they're having some success in the lagoons. Search out a spot in Island Heights (the north shore of the Toms River) and start casting. You should hook into one eventually. There's no magic spot there, just try a bunch of areas of beach/shore and have fun.

Most guys have been using bloods. I'm going to experiment with some Fish Bites there sometime this week since it's forecast to be so nice. I shall report back.
