Fluked in the fog yesterday in the ditch. Slow day though we did manage to keep 22", 21" and 20". Massive head, charter, and rec boat fleet in the bottom of the ditch. Cape May, DE, and Fortescue fleets all well represented down there. Fishing's gotta' be tough for all them boats to be in that one spot.

especially the incoming for fluke. The current was really weir out their on sat. within 20 minutes we were using a drift sock and 5 ounces, to pulling the sock and swithing to 1 and 1/2. we also managed 3 keepers and a 2pd croaker.

Yo Phil, good fishing w/ ya! If you're gonna tell em where there were some fish, might as well tell em where there wasn't too. We spent the better part of the morning prodding a couple different structure laden deep water spots on the DE side by 14 ft. and the Anchorage that perenially hold fish by this time of year to no avail. Disheartened by the lack of fish in our search, we then went back and joined the fleet in the ditch and picked up 3 nice fish on our first 3 drifts, before it shut off besides some shorts and a few tussels w/ some decent sized brownies. We headed for the barn around 1pm where we were greeted with rain..which was a surprise to us, but good releif from the heat:) Looks like what's left of those fish that have been hammered to death in the ditch the past few weeks are headed south. Keep your fingers crossed for a decent deep water bite in the lower bay in the weeks to come???
