Going to be plugging in CT in next few weeks. I was always under the impression that they throw more wood than us in south jersey. I want to bring out some of these larger plugs that I hardly use- any recs? Should i be throwing the same things we use- blurple bombers/redfins/ finS?

Yeh, the yankees love their big wood plugs. But they are also practical and will readily throw plastic plugs like us.

I got some monster wooden stuff that I like when I am up there. If in areas of strong currents, darters, Gibbs Dannies and bottle tops. Needlefish are great.

The most fun is not wood but Cotton Cordell Pencil Poppers. In shallows near rocks, fish will take a swing at them even when they are not feeding. Best part is they float and don't get hung up in the rocks easy.

Of course the best is the bio-piugs ;)

It will depend on the weight and buoyancy of the plug. Learning how to twitch them, especially the smaller ones is pretty simple. You can swim them like an eel with a little practice.

Some Large Wood In These Color Patterns Will Work.

Here are a few Needles that also should draw some attention.

4- white danny

You look good to go with those plugs they will surely get you thru the night and early mornings.
Nice Collection....
As far as other colors, alot of old salts state to just stay with the basic colors of White,Black,Yellow and Green..Some of todays customs are eye catchers with the custom bait fish patterns, but in reality they basics will catch fish just the same.. So that being said just hook yourself up with some yellows and light greens.
