Hello... Im sorry to say im not intersted in purchasing but i am intrigued that you used a Pungo for fishing. I have recently purchased one and would like to do the same (also in Manasquan). Did you have problems with it taking on water? Was it a problem not having pedals? Just trying to figure out if fishing from mine is a realistic goal or not as im not a pro yaker at this point. Thanks.

re

Blynch -

The Pungo is a sit in. I used to fish only fresh water so it was perfect for that - never took in any water and I never used a skirt on the lake. I was later introduced to fishing in the bay - had it out once - took a little bit of water - so I never used it again in the salt.

That is when I bought the prowler which is a sit on top - which is perfect for the salt.

2 year later - I bought a hobie from barrell. Hence my accumulation of kayaks.

In my opinion - Id never use a sit in kayak on the bay or ocean. I think it is dangerous.

This is what i was afraid of, especially knowing the wakes that run through the river. Thanks for the input.
