I will comment from a rod builders perspective. The workmanship of the rods is very good. You will see rods being sold under many different brands, at prices from $200-500 that are not as good a quality as the Chaos rods. I attribute this statement based on their construction techniques.
The others are right, the new company 'Boomerang' is pretty much doing what they have always done, that is, exceptional work. They have a good cosmetic appearance, Gold and Black wrappings.
If you are looking for 4 or more rods then I would recommend that you look around. If you needed a set of 30's, 50's you could easily go $1,000-2,000. A couple spins, boat rods etc and the price tag keeps climbing.
If you are going to spend the money, why not compare. I offer a line of Fish Poison rods that will compare in quality, durability to anything in the marketplace at any price. 20 years of service is likely. You can pick colors, boats name, fish decals, length, strength, so many options. Ask the person you are talking to to tell you what components are used and what makes them better[this is important]. You might find a custom guy like Paul JPR, Bullseye, myself and others could give you as good a deal.
A word of caution. I have heard and seen many horror stories from ebay purchases. Or, if the rod is so good why is it built in China? Good luck, if you have a chjance stop in or give a call, you will probably save money.
