For those who like to use the rail when fighting a big fish especially on
party boats....now it can be done with spinning reels.

Here is a device used on long range boats out of San Deigo to land big
cow YFT.

It looks like there could be some trouble with balance on that. It could be improved if it had a wider section that rests against the rail. Perhaps build it in a "Y" configuration, Then it would have a wider base to stop it from trying to fall over sideways. Less energy expended with the rig, leaves more energy and concentration for fighting the fish. It looks somewhat cumbersome to attract a lot of use, even as is. Permanently attached to the rod as you are jigging.

John, it looks like Jamie's (fishordie) device.
He landed a 210 yft with Accurate SR50 on a recent trip on the Intrepid. I am sure he used the device.
He is coming on my charter to Hurricane Bank for jigging and popping.

Agreed. it looks like a great idea, and as time goes on it will be modified and improved. That foregrip must be chewed up pretty good.
