My bud took this one of me uncorking a cast in Hatteras and caught it just right. You don't see shots of rods loaded often so I thought it was interesting. Look behind me a bit and you see the float rig and 3 oz. chunck of lead as a blur on it's way to a flying lesson. Rod is a custom built on a J. Kennedy Fisher blank for 2-4 oz., a Calcutta 400 series reel with 14# Sufix Tritanium

That IS a great shot! Awesome form... "picture perfect". I've never launched a baitcaster like that... I'm not experienced with them enough to even try it... I'm afraid I'll spool the line and end up clearing up a birds nest while everyone else catches fish. My buddy and I are talking about taking a road trip to Hatteras sometime around March or April. What can you tell me about the fishing there at that time of year? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Take care.

Rod is pretty stiff in the medium heavy range. Average cast with 3 oz's is about 300 feet (yes, I have measured :razz
