I bought a boat 4 years ago, and the last 3 summers my son and I have been fishing the Darby Creek and Racoon Creek catching Catfish, Perch and Sunnies. WE WANT TO CATCH A STRIPER! We launch out of Ridley Marina by Boeing and will be fishing between the Commodore Barry and the Walt Whitman.

I know its asking alot but can someone explain the basics:

-Rod and Reel (I'd like to purchase)
-Tackle setup (dumb it down for me)
-Fishing Technique
-Good locations in that area (CBB area to the Walt Whitman)
-Bait

I know its alot of information but I'm looking for help. Thanks.

Rod would be something in the 12 to 30 lb range. What do you like bait casters or spinning? Reel would handle 15 to 30lb test line. I like little tip rods with Power pro line.

You will need to get some circle hooks that are inline. This has some thing to do with when you fish. They will bite on pluges but you would be beter off fishing with bait.

The flats of that area should have fish. Other places to look would be Rocks edges banks.

Blood worms is propblem the best bait. Herin and pluges work also.

Good luck and have fun.

Email me in Mid March. I will be fishing that area we can fish in the same area. I used bloods and Clams in that area. Not to burn spots but where the DE River and Schkuyl meet is a great general area to look for marks. ;)
