I have an Iridium sat phone, and have been using a prepaid plan with Outfitters Satellite - I currently have 650 minutes on my prepaid account to extend these minutes for the next 12 months is going to be $495.

I use the phone very little, just when offshore. With my low usage, I would prefer a plan where I only pay for the minutes used, but Outfitters does not offer such a plan. Does anyone have any recommendations on who they use?

Take a look at Satcom Direct. They have a monthly service option with no contract. $34.95 per month plus calls.

I have the same issue with the pre-paids. Some companies allow you to pay a roll-over fee per month ($30 odd ) to carry the minutes. The short experation period is where they make their $$.

I agree, Satcom direct is the way to go- great to work with, no annual contract. I have used them for a year
