1/4 mile off the beach this A.M. Bluefins busting
on small baitfish. Spearing,rainfish? I chased them around for 90 minutes and had 1 brief hookup.I never had so much fun chasing fish. I threw everything I had at them. I wonder what I could have done different?

Have a Deadly Dick or any thin long metal on a spin rod and cast and real FAST.

Make sure to let it sink!!! If they are busting on top, allowing your shiny lure to sink below the baitball they are working will single out your lure. then do a jerk retrieve. It may take a few casts, but you'll eventually get slammed!

Not saying there weren't other in the mix. I have caught albies before. A couple of times I was right in the middle of them busting. They were torpedoing right out of the water right in front of me. These tuna were solid silversided,and I
talked to a buddy of mine last night. He trolled up a 25lb bluefin right were I was fishing.

We had bluefin off Seaside yesterday ripping thru the the small bait pods while Fluking, got a call that a boat hooked up and landed one..will try to find out the size today.

Also had a Threaser shark free jumping off bayhead on our way out got a call later in the day that a buddies boat had it jump not 100 ft from his boat

I saw the same thing yesterday off of the Ferris wheel............. Some looked to be solid fish.

I got one fluking this morning 4 miles off Seaside. Got him on a diamond jig.
