Went down to check on the boat and found that some scumbag decided to cleaned out my locked tackle drawers for me :mad:!! The scumbag took everything. They got about 30# of lead, bait knives, hooks, swivels, pliers, dehooker, buck tails, flounder rigs, gloves & etc. They even took balloons and rubber bands. I'm still not sure of everything thats gone.

Guys check your boats and remove everything thats not screwed down.

Lushes Too I'm very sorry to hear this. I hope that they did not break anything on your boat you have to have fixed. As for the tackle......I make my own bank sinkers so let me know what size you need and I will drop them off to you.

Seems as though a lot of these stories about boat break ins in Cape May on the BB happen at BZL.
Is it because of the size of the marina and the number of boats it holds?
I mean it is a huge parcel of land with tons of areas that are either right against the bull rush or secluded in some other fashion.
Well whatever the reason, that sucks!
Sorry to hear that LT.

Nothing was broken thank god. I really appreciate your offer on the weights but its not necessary. I have molds and lead.

BZL has something like 1400 slips and I have no idea how many boats are stored so I believe the number breakins is just related to their size. I've been robbed a few times in the past at smaller local marinas but this is the first at BZL.

stolen rig

I just got word of a boat being stolen at Avalon Manor from a yard near the Avalon Pointe Marina. The boat was on a trailer that was jacked up. The theives removed a section of split rail fence to tow it away. The boat was older but the 150 hp engine was newer. Nothing is safe today.

Sorry to hear of your losses. Just 1 quick question...
Do they ever hit boats that are shrink wrapped?
George - Good question. You would think out of sight out of mind. I scheduled mine to be wrapped but it didn't get done before getting hit.

that blows!!! can't believe people in our "community" would steal from each other. Scumbags:mad:....my father in law had all his rods stolen out of his boat...big expense rods/reels. Guys were caught on the jetty trying to sell them to a guy, who happened to be a cop. rods were returned and guys were charged. I'm sure it's a miracle he got them back! Probably good i have a center console wiht barely no storage room..makes me take everything with me.

Apparently, screwing down doesn't stop them - especially if they're Penn International teaser reels. My buddy's disappeared from a local yard. Tough way to start the season.

At a friend's marina, we always made fun of this one guy for writing his name in big block letters on his 20 qt cooler - until someone borrowed a few of our 48 qt drink coolers. We got one back, but the other one got forgotten somewhere.

Warm beer in the summer. Ugh - I'll take the black letters. Well, maybe not, but...
