Are you going to D.C for the rally??
I guess i ahev to go if I'm going to make such statements..
Are you volunteering to do this bear?or even had a dad to smack his arse when he was out of line.
That's not the problem up here. There are plenty of sea bass and the government knows this. They seem to think we overfished our 2009 quota heavily, so they shut us down early in October of 2009. Then, they said we overfished it so badly that they're only allowing us two months of fishing in 2010. All this despite the sea bass numbers being good. It's got nothing to do with a population problem. What I dont understand is down here in Florida the seabass are a pain. There are so many of them on the reefs that we cant get to the snapper. As soon as the line touches bottom the seabass are all over your bait with doubles and triples within seconds pretty common. Most are keeper size. There is no shortage of seabsss, down here anyway. They must not migrate or disperse like other species.
I agree and they TAX us too! wait till you see, More beer tax, sugar tax, soda tax. Time for a tea party!.That's not the problem up here. There are plenty of sea bass and the government knows this. The problem is that the majority of the American public put a bunch of non-fishing politicians in office and they'll gladly accept campaign donations from tree huggers who would love to have us shut down!
Only one way to change politicians Adam, and that is, vote them out and do exactly that---"change politicians"!All we want to do is fish under sensible regulations. It's not that we don't want any regulations...we just want SENSIBLE REGULATIONS!
The same people that are hailing themselves as creating more jobs for the American people shut down a perfectly healthy sea bass fishery and heavily restrict a very healthy fluke fishery. I guess fishing jobs don't matter. Next election, we ought to show them that if they don't think our jobs matter, our VOTES count just as much as the next guy.
Dick, you got it!Only one way to change politicians Adam, and that is, vote them out and do exactly that---"change politicians"!
great post capt.val--one of the best this year.i just heard they are going to open the fishery for 1 month in spring and 1 month in the fall. That sucks...
Heres my feeling at this point with the way things are going.
1.) stop giving fisherman a slow bleed on the limmits , seasons. This is a slow death. Just end it and give all our fish to another country who needs it more. While we are at it .....
2.) take my boat and give it to some non-working family who didn't earn it. They can sell it and sit on the couch some more and watch all the tv ive been missing while at work.
3.) raise my taxes again and give it to an illegal imigrant who only worked here for a few years and now wants social securtity and you will give it to him because you want his votes. (no disrespect to imigrants just the illegal ones as we all come from imigrant famlies)
4.) tax more businesses so they can raise their prices so everything will cost more and for the first time in history our kids will not live a better life than their parents.
5.) finally ration health care so people who only have a year left won't get to enjoy it because the resources were needed for younger people who had more oportunity to sit on the couch and collect off the hard work of the people who are dying from being worked to death to pay the taxes.
When we are bankrupt, defucnt and finally have another boston tea party and cleanse this goverment we will get our fishing back.
So washington, hurry up and stop the slow bleed so we can get the revolt started
